What does "genuine Vietnamese origin" mean for US customs purposes?
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) applies a "substantial transformation" test. The imported product must undergo a change in name, character, or use in Vietnam. Dewin's Dolphin Audit specifically evaluates factories' COO eligibility — including local workforce %, local value addition, and process documentation — because CBP can request verification at any time.
Can Dewin issue Certificates of Origin for our shipments?
Dewin manages the CO process on your behalf. VCCI Form B certificates are issued by Vietnam's Chamber of Commerce and Industry based on documentation we prepare with the factory. For CPTPP shipments we manage Form D. For RCEP we coordinate RCEP CO documentation. Our Trade Compliance pillar in the Dolphin Audit specifically verifies factory CO issuance capability before we recommend them for export orders.
How long does factory qualification take with Dewin?
For standard processes (CNC, die casting, injection molding, stamping), our pre-audited factories can receive and quote an RFQ within 5-7 business days. Most clients are sampling within 10-14 weeks of receiving a matched factory quote. For new factories outside our existing network, audit + qualification adds 3-4 weeks.
Does Vietnam have factories that can match China's precision tolerances?
Yes — and we can prove it with equipment documentation. NAPEC runs CMM-verified CNC turning. HDP and Huynh Duc have 2D VMM and 3D CMM inspection respectively. Hirata runs Japanese 5S standards with 2D optical inspection. Dewin's Dolphin Audit photographs and documents the actual inspection equipment at each factory so buyers see the calibrated measuring tools before placing an order.
