Welding Processes

Six welding technologies to match every material, joint type, and production volume.

TIG Welding (GTAW)

Precision welds on thin materials and critical joints. Ideal for stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium. Clean, high-quality beads with minimal spatter.

Best for: Aerospace brackets, food equipment, medical devices, thin-wall enclosures

MIG Welding (GMAW)

High-deposition-rate process for production welding. Faster than TIG with good penetration. Pulse MIG for aluminum and spray transfer for steel.

Best for: Structural frames, machine bases, automotive brackets, general fabrication

Robotic Welding

Automated cells for consistent, repeatable welds at high volume. Fanuc, Yaskawa, and OTC Daihen robots with seam tracking and torch cleaning.

Best for: Production runs 200+ units, automotive parts, repetitive assemblies

Spot & Projection Welding

Resistance welding for sheet metal assemblies. Fast cycle times, no filler material, minimal distortion. Up to 200kVA capacity.

Best for: Sheet metal enclosures, brackets, automotive panels, wire forms

Laser Welding

High-precision, low-distortion joining with minimal heat-affected zone. Fiber and Nd:YAG laser systems for thin materials and hermetic sealing.

Best for: Medical instruments, sensors, battery housings, precision enclosures

Flux-Cored Arc Welding

High-deposition welding for heavy structural work. Self-shielded or gas-shielded options. Excellent for thick plate and positional welding.

Best for: Heavy equipment, structural steel, pressure vessels, pipe welding

Why Vietnam for Welding Fabrication?

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿญ

Deep Welding Talent Pool

Vietnam's shipbuilding and oil & gas industries have trained thousands of certified welders. Many hold 6G pipe qualifications and AWS certifications.

๐Ÿ’ฐ

Competitive Pricing

Fabrication shop rates of $12โ€“20/hr. Savings come from lower labor and overhead costs โ€” not from cutting corners on quality.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Zero US Tariffs

No Section 301 surcharges on Vietnamese fabrications. Steel weldments from China face 25%+ tariffs โ€” from Vietnam, standard MFN rates only.

๐Ÿญ

Full-Service Shops

Cut, bend, weld, machine, finish, and assemble under one roof. Fewer handoffs means faster delivery and better quality.

Welding & Fabrication FAQ

What welding processes do your factories offer?
TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), spot welding, projection welding, stud welding, laser welding, and robotic welding. Our factories hold AWS D1.1/D1.2 structural welding certifications and employ CWI-supervised welders.
What materials can you weld?
Carbon steel (A36, 1018, 4130, 4140), stainless steel (304, 316L, 17-4 PH), aluminum (6061, 5052, 5083), copper and brass, Inconel and nickel alloys, and titanium. Thickness range from 0.5mm thin-gauge TIG to 50mm+ heavy plate multi-pass welds.
Can your factories handle large structural weldments?
Yes. Our factories handle structural weldments up to 6 meters long and 10 tons. Heavy fabrication capabilities include plate rolling, flame cutting, plasma cutting, and stress-relief heat treatment. Dedicated heavy weldment shops with overhead cranes up to 50 tons.
How do you ensure weld quality?
All welding follows qualified WPS/PQR procedures. NDE inspection includes visual (VT), dye penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), ultrasonic (UT), and radiographic (RT) testing. Welders are qualified per AWS D1.1 or EN ISO 9606. CMM and fixture gauging verify dimensional accuracy.
Do your factories have robotic welding?
Yes. Several factories operate robotic welding cells from Fanuc, Yaskawa/Motoman, and OTC Daihen. Robotic welding is ideal for repeat production runs of 200+ units โ€” delivering consistent bead quality, faster cycle times, and lower per-unit costs.
What surface finishes are available for weldments?
Grinding and blending, sandblasting, powder coating, wet paint, hot-dip galvanizing, zinc plating, e-coating, and passivation for stainless steel. We can finish weldments to cosmetic standards or functional-only.
What's the typical lead time?
Prototypes and first articles: 2โ€“4 weeks. Production weldments: 3โ€“6 weeks depending on complexity, volume, and finishing. Repeat orders with fixtures already set up: 2โ€“3 weeks.
Why choose Vietnam for welding fabrication?
Vietnam has a deep talent pool of certified welders from its shipbuilding and oil & gas industries. Fabrication shop rates of $12โ€“20/hr offer significant savings versus most markets. Zero Section 301 tariffs for US importers. Our on-the-ground team audits every factory and inspects every order.
