Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about manufacturing in Vietnam with DEWIN.
Getting Started
How do I get a quote for manufacturing in Vietnam?
Simply upload your CAD files, drawings, or specifications on our quote page. Our engineers will review your project and respond within 24 hours with a detailed quote including pricing, lead times, and recommended manufacturing processes.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQs vary by process and part complexity. For CNC machining and sheet metal, we can handle quantities as low as 1 piece for prototypes. Die casting and powder metallurgy typically require MOQs of 500–1,000 pieces due to tooling costs. Contact us for specifics on your project.
How long does it take to receive parts?
Typical lead times are: Prototypes: 5–10 business days. First production run: 3–6 weeks including tooling. Repeat orders: 2–4 weeks. Rush services are available for urgent projects.
Do you handle shipping and logistics?
Yes. We manage the entire logistics chain — from factory floor to your dock. We handle export documentation, customs clearance, and offer FOB, CIF, and DDP shipping terms. Most shipments to the US arrive in 3–5 weeks by sea or 5–7 days by air.
Manufacturing Capabilities
What manufacturing processes do you support?
Our Vietnam supplier network covers: CNC Machining (±0.005mm tolerance), Sheet Metal stamping/bending/welding (±0.1mm), Die Casting in aluminum and zinc (±0.05mm), Plastic Injection Molding (±0.02mm), Powder Metallurgy (±0.05mm), Laser Cutting & Welding, and Surface Treatments (anodizing, plating, powder coating).
What materials can you work with?
We process a wide range of materials including aluminum alloys (6061, 7075, ADC12), stainless steels (304, 316, 17-4PH), carbon steels, brass, copper, titanium, and engineering plastics (ABS, PA66, POM, PEEK). Visit our materials page for full details.
Can you manufacture to automotive or aerospace standards?
Yes. Several of our suppliers hold IATF 16949 (automotive) and AS9100 (aerospace) certifications. We follow PPAP, FMEA, and AQL inspection standards. Our quality team includes certified supplier quality engineers based in Vietnam.
Do you offer design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback?
Absolutely. Our engineers provide free DFM analysis with every quote. We'll identify potential issues, suggest design optimizations to reduce cost, and recommend the best manufacturing process for your part geometry and volume.
Quality & Trust
How do you ensure quality?
Quality is managed at every stage: Supplier vetting with on-site audits, PPAP documentation for first articles, in-process inspections with photo/video updates, final inspection using CMM and calibrated instruments, and quality reports shipped with every batch. Our QC team is based in Vietnam for real-time oversight.
Can I visit the factories?
Yes, and we encourage it. Our local team in Vietnam can arrange factory visits, provide translation services, and accompany you during audits. Many of our clients visit annually to strengthen supplier relationships.
What if parts don't meet specifications?
We stand behind our quality. If parts don't meet agreed specifications, we'll rework or remake them at no additional cost. Our inspection reports document all critical dimensions before shipment, and we resolve issues quickly thanks to our on-the-ground team.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. We sign NDAs before reviewing any proprietary designs, and our supplier contracts include confidentiality clauses. You can download our NDA template or provide your own.
Why Vietnam?
Why manufacture in Vietnam instead of China?
Vietnam offers several advantages: No Section 301 surcharges — Vietnam is exempt from the 25%+ tariffs applied to Chinese imports. Competitive costs — labor and overhead costs are 20–40% lower than coastal China. Growing infrastructure — major investment in manufacturing zones and ports. Diversification — reduce supply chain risk by not depending on a single country.
Is Vietnam manufacturing quality comparable to China?
Yes, for many processes. Vietnam's precision machining, sheet metal, and die casting capabilities have matured significantly. Many Vietnamese factories serve Tier 1 automotive suppliers, Japanese OEMs, and US industrial companies. The key is working with the right suppliers — which is exactly what we do.
How does DEWIN help with the China-to-Vietnam transition?
We provide a complete transition service: supplier identification and vetting, sample production and qualification, quality system setup (PPAP/FMEA), production ramp-up management, and ongoing quality oversight. Our bilingual team handles all communication and cultural navigation.
Working With Us
What does DEWIN charge for its services?
Our sourcing and project management services are built into the part pricing — there are no separate consulting fees. You get a single, transparent quote that covers manufacturing, quality control, and logistics management.
How do I communicate with the team?
You'll have a dedicated project manager who communicates via email in English. We provide regular updates with photos and videos from the factory floor. For urgent matters, we're available via WhatsApp and phone during Vietnam business hours (GMT+7).
Can you handle ongoing production, not just one-off orders?
Absolutely. Most of our clients are repeat customers with ongoing production programs. We manage inventory, schedule regular production runs, and continuously monitor quality. We can also set up kanban or blanket order arrangements.
